Pound for Pound Challenge
The Pound for Pound Challenge officially launched Tuesday, January 5th, on NBC’s The Biggest Loser.
The Feeding America Pound for Pound Challenge is off and running and the Regional Food Bank, a member of the Feeding America network, needs your help to fight hunger right here in northeastern New York! Right now, hunger is hitting harder than ever. So, in partnership with NBC’s The Biggest Loser, General Mills, Subway, 24 Hour Fitness and Walgreens, our food bank and Feeding America have made it easier than ever for you to find quick, simple ways to help.
The “Pound for Pound Challenge” encourages the public to get healthy while helping the people served by the Feeding America network. There are 2 ways to participate:
1) Pledge to lose weight and for every pound of weight participants pledge to lose, the Pound For Pound Challenge will donate 14 cents to Feeding America – which in turn will be donated to the local food banks! Visit http://www.PFPChallenge.com to sign up!
2) If you are not interested in taking the Challenge, you can help in other ways like supporting a participant with a pledge, recruiting a team at work to sign up, or becoming a Challenge Champion in our community.
On http://www.PFPChallenge.com, dieters also can get helpful meal and weight loss tips from Yoplait, MultiGrain Cheerios, Larabar, Muir Glen, Eat Better America, Subway and 24 Hour Fitness. With the rapidly increasing need for donations, everyone can do their part to spread awareness of the hunger issue and become a part of the solution. In addition to pledging to lose weight, you can create a PFP Challenge team on Facebook, invite a friend to join the Challenge via e-mail, donate directly to Feeding America and learn how you can volunteer at local food banks.
